2011 Residence Energy Conservation Challenge - Code of Conduct

Challenge Home Participants Tracking Our Progress Code of Conduct

Code of Ethics 2011

This Code of Ethics for the 2011 Residence Energy Conservation Challenge are adapted from a Code of Ethics developed by students at Mount Allison University for their own energy challenges on campus. Campuses are encouraged to use these as guidelines in developing their own Code of Conduct.

The purpose of the campus energy conservation challenge is to raise people’s awareness of how much energy is used and how we can make big savings by doing little things. Together we can make a difference if everyone does their part.

Please:

  • Focus on reducing your own ecological footprint. Stick to things that are sustainable and you would do for the rest of the year (or forever).
  • If you are found sabotaging others’ efforts your residence will be disqualified.
  • Don’t mess with the motion detectors or other fixed building equipment.
  • Do not remove any florescent tubes in hallway lighting.
  • If you’re planning on doing something drastic, check with your RA / RLA.
  • Remember your residence code of conduct/ rules while participating in the challenge.

Remember to have fun and be creative!
